Emotional times.

Why is it that even after you give birth you get even more emotional?? ok so I know its postpartum stuff, but still. It's not fair. My life has been an emotional roller coaster for the last 3 plus weeks, and it's been hard. Even harder when you are a girl who keeps things like this to yourself. I feel like I need to post a little bit about this though. Ok so maybe its just for my benefit of a pity party for myself. It started just after Peanut was born, when Squirt was born he stayed in the room for along time, but Peanut was only in there for a very short time. But we all know different hospitals do things differently, each one has its pros and cons. At times it felt like this hospitals cons out-weighed its pros by far but other times it didn't. I never got that first time mother bonding with the naked baby against moms bare skin, and I didn't even realize this until after we got home and life still gets so busy that I haven't fully done it yet. I feel bad but I know it isn't my fault. Also I think I hear about things in life that are happening to others so that I can remember how blessed I am I have been an avid reader of a blog of a little girl named Sadie and of the Haws Family and now because I read Sadie's blog so much I am starting to read the blog of a little boy named Lucas. Both the Haws Family and Sadie's blog has reminded me that we are a family forever but they have also taught me a lot about overcoming adversity. And today was the first day that Peanut went to a babysitters because he can't go to Daycare until he is 6 weeks old and I have been worrying so much about him today, don't get me wrong I trust and love the neighbors that are watching him, I just wish I could be home with him every day.
I thank my Heavenly Father for giving me the strength to keep going. I Love all my Boys!
There is more but that will have to wait for another time.

2 week check up stats.

So Peanut had his 2 week check up yesterday and he is now 7 pounds 14 ounces, 20 inches long and has a 14 in head all of which are around the 20th percentile. Yes I know what some of you are thinking... "What?? My Child isn't in the 95th percentile..." Don't worry he will get there.

Thank you for all of you who have stopped by and visited! We appreciate it.

He is HERE!!!

Our sweet little baby boy was born on Friday (8/7/09) at 3:33pm. He weighed 6 pounds 5.2 ounces and measured 20 and a half inches long.

This is shortly after delivery(his first feeding)

This was on Saturday when big brother got to really see him for the first time, Squirt kept telling me "he needs more milk"

The angle on this picture isn't the best but this is Squirt giving his brother a kiss.

I really like this picture because Grandma Rosie took off his hat so you can see his hair.

Now for the details that many of you have been asking for...(if you don't want to know don't read on.)

When I had Squirt I was induced, so letting nature do it's thing this time was a little on the unknown side for me.

Friday was just another day for me I got up and my mom and I took Squirt to school, then we went to work. At around 9 I got up from my desk to go to the restroom and I had only taken 2 steps when I thought to myself...wow I think I just wet my pants a little. This happened another 2-3 times and I had pains in my legs when I finally turned to my mom and said "Um, Mom...I think I am going to the hospital." To which her reply was "WHY???" I told her what was happening and called my husband to come get me and we were off to the hospital. We got to the hospital around 10:30ish and the nurse came in to check on things and to see if my water had really broken when she found a greenish black fluid leaking out which meant my water had broken and the baby had already pooped.(yeah I know kinda disgusting.) So they admitted me and started me on iv fluids and patosin. Around 2:45 the contractions were getting really intense and we paged my nurse, in hopes that I might get an epidural. She finally came in the room at 3pm and I told her that I really wanted an epidural, she said ok and called right then and there to anesthesia and told them she was starting my fluids right then and that I wanted an epidural.(they have to pump a certain amount of IV fluids into you before you can have an epidural.) so she upped the flow of the IV and checked me and said that I was at a 6 and that she would be back in about 10 to 15 minutes to change the IV bag to a new bag. About 10 to 12 minutes later she came in and changed the IV bag (she was on my left side) as she changed it, she told me that the anesthesiologist was looking at my chart and as soon as he was done he would be in to start the epidural, then I had another big contraction and was kinda tossing and turning and crying a little from the pain. She then walked over to my right hand side (where my husband was sitting, holding his hand out so I could push on it with each contraction.) and she started to enter somethings on the computer when the next contraction I has was the first pushing contraction. I was barely able to tell my husband "I'm pushing" when the nurse said "What?" and he said "She said she's pushing" to which her reply was "NO YOU'RE NOT!!!" She ran over to my left side again and grabbed some gloves as she pushed the nurses call button and said "I NEED ANOTHER NURSE IN HERE NOW!...NO DON'T PUSH JUST BREATHE...I NEED ANOTHER NURSE NOW!" To which my response was "I can't" She got up on the bed and held my legs together and bent and just kept saying "Look at me just breathe, breathe, breathe...(she said this over and over) As she was doing this the anesthesiologist walked in an said "All I hear is you're not pushing, you're not pushing, guess your going naturally." and he turned and walked out of the room. Just about a minute later my doctor came hurrying into the room, luckily her office is just down the hall from the labor and delivery area so she was close by. She didn't even have time to get the lidacane ready to numb me and cut me so I wouldn't tear that she eventually said "oh well you are just going to tear" I only tore a little bit, but man the pain that comes after when you don't have an epidural is painful. My doctor is amazing. Many thanks go out to the nurses who all played a wonderful part in bringing our little one into this world. All I can say is that this little peanut came 2 hours faster than Squirt and if that is a sign of things to come I maybe more inclined to ask for an epidural earlier next time.

That's all for now I will post more pictures later.

2 Weeks to go!

With only two weeks to go until our next little boy comes, it is really getting close, really fast. I am excited and nervous. I went to the doctors yesterday and she said I am dilated to a 3 still 50% effaced and the baby is in the midline position. It was good to hear that I am moving along slowly, as some of you know I spent 4 hours in the hospital last Thursday just to find out I had a UTI. Normally when I take antibiotics my body is fine but with the last round of antibiotics that I took for an ear infection I got a yeast infection. Well I bet you can guess what I got with this round of antibiotics, yep another yeast infection. Why does my body have to change so much when I am pregnant? It just irritates me. Hopefully all will go well from here on out. Squirt is constantly telling people that he is excited for his brother to come, we will see what happens when he actually comes.

As many of you know I find joy in putting my son on a horse each year just to see his reaction, and so far each year his reaction has been the same, he cries and cries and begs to get down. This year has been a little different he tells people that he got to ride a horse with mommy and that he liked it and laughed and wants to ride "another one a horse."

I do think that squirt is starting to catch on that things are changing. He gets more emotional at times. Lately when he gets mad at Daddy he will look at him and say "Leave me lone...uhh...thats my mom, she's my friend." it is so hard not to laugh. He is an amazing little boy with a mind of his own.

I hope to post more pictures and other things later.
