Christmas fun!

A lot has been going on in our lives lately... My show closed...I also got made head prop mistress. Squirt has grown up so much lately... He loves Buzz and Woody. He knows so much, it is amazing. My husband has survived about 3-4 layoffs in the last 2 months. (Thankfully)

We are grateful for the love and care everyone has shown us... Christmas is a wonderful holiday to make us take a step back and realize that we can help "Pay it forward" any time of the year.

We want to wish you all a merry christmas and Squirt has one final message to share with all of you...

Adventures in theatre land....wow it has been a long time since I have been there.

So my life is starting to get really busy again with the show I am doing, hence why I haven't blogged in awhile. But I have learned alot in the past few weeks. Here are just a few lessons I have learned.

1st is when dipping apples in fresh, hot off the stove homemade carmel, never hold the stick so that the apple is directly over your hand. Why you may ask? because then that hot carmel drips off of the apple and will land on your hand and burn you. See...

Yes it really hurt.

2nd is that no matter who sits infront of your son during his preschool halloween program, your son is still the cutest one there. See...

I think in the last picture he was saying cool because he was looking at this...

They were making witches brew.

Oh and by the way he doesn't like witches. (this is his daycare director)

Well just one last thought - always smile it makes people wonder what you are up to.

Inbetween the sunday sessions of conference I decided to take the family and go to gardner village to try to get some fun autumn/witch shots of Jimmy. Here are the best ones.
Note to self next time go after Jimmy has had a nap not before!

We hope to get more professional photos done soon!

Here is Jimmy's other fish - His name is Chum - He is a Chinese algae eater

Life is full of challenges!

So as many of you know I work at Hale Theatre. And I love theatre(this is where my lovely husband would roll his eyes) especially being in shows. Although I haven't made it into a show at Hale, I auditioned for 2 shows just recently Babes in Toyland (at the Empress Theatre in Magna) and Savior of the World(at the Church's Conference Center Theater). Personally I thought that I totally did HORRIBLE for my audition for Babes in Toyland, and that my audition for Savior of the World audition was amazingly better! But what do I know (well ok I know the director of Babes in Toyland) So I am cast in Babes in Toyland!!! I didn't make Savior of the world but I will definately audition again, that experince was amazing (but another story, if you want to hear about it email me.) So much to my husbands dismay I am in a show luckily I only so far have rehearsals on wednesday nights. That was a blessing this last weekend when I didn't have work at Hale(we are inbetween shows Into the Woods starts tonight) or rehearsal, because my son had a very hard night (friday-saturday). It started with him being bit 3 times by the same girl at daycare on thursday, but Friday night he went to bed fine but then I was awaken by an almost blood curtiling scream from him. I ran to check on him, when I got to his room he threw himself down on his bed and was gripping his stomach (mind you he is only 2 and can't really convey what he is feeling very well) and after finally getting him out of bed, he screamed that he wanted daddy, so I rushed to get my husband who helped calm him down but I could tell that he still wasn't doing good, and had spats of screaming. We almost took him to the ER when he finally calmed down I let my husband go back to sleep and between 3 and 6am my son threw up about 8 to 10 times. Then he wanted daddy at 6 so we went and got him then I got to sleep from 6 to 9 while the boys slept together on the lazyboy. He got back to his normal self by monday.

Well I hope to be able to post more later.

Lots going on!

A lot has happened recently in our family (and Lizzy's extended family). My Brother and his family are now finally all together in North Carolina, My sister-in-law, Shallyse and my 4 year old neice Malia and my 7week old neice Kairi, were able to fly back on August 19th with my mom to be with my brother George in North Carolina. My brother got a job with IBM and had to relocate to North Carolina and he left 7 weeks ago (2 days after Kairi was born) and Shallyse and the girls couldn't go until Kairi was 6 weeks old. It has been hard on my mom and I, My mom because she is now no where close to my neices and me because my brother and I have been so close, and we have never really lived very far apart. It is a struggle because Malia and Jimmy don't really understand why they don't get to see eachother daily like they used to.

2 weeks ago we had a scare in our family - I was stuck at the Hale Centre Theatre (where I work part time at nights and saturday mornings) I am part of the Guild and was making dinner for the cast on the 16th and I got a call from my mom saying "why did your husband just call me asking me what the symptoms of West Nile Virus are?" to which my response was "WHAT?" and she repeated herself then said "WHY? and Seth said "well because I have been having head aches(which I kinda knew about), body aches (I didn't know about), and I am now having fevers and chills." My heart sank as I said to my mom "well.... what are the symptoms?" To which she listed off everything that seth had told her he was feeling. As I almost broke out into tears I said bye to her and quickly called my husband and said "Is there something you need to tell me?" and we talked briefly when I told him I would call his parents to see if they could come over to help with Jimmy..... To not gross you out with what came next I will skip a part....My father-in-law took Seth to the doctor and they ran a blood test for west nile, and a urine test. Early thoughts were that he had west nile and that the west nile led to a kidney infection....Luckily for us neither were true they think that he just had a virus. It made Seth's stomach pretty sensitive for a while, but it is getting better. We survived it. I will post more later.

Vacation Updates

So we went on a family vacation this last week, we left on Wednesday and came back on Sunday. We spent over 28 hours in the car(yeah Jimmy didn't like it at times), 11 hours to Snowflake, Arizona(where my Mother-in-laws parents and family live) on Wednesday then 3 hours to Safford, Arizona (where my Father-in-laws parents and family live) on Thursday, then 3 hours back to Snowflake, Arizona on Friday, then 11 back to our home in West Jordan, Utah on Sunday. We had a blast getting to see a lot of family that hasn't seen us for a year (we did a road trip last year too!) - I know I am crazy but it has been fun and Jimmy was a lot better this year then last year, partly because we had grandma in the car with us (thanks, Tammy!) We drove all day Wednesday getting to Arizona around 9 their time and then woke up the next morning and left for safford around 9 or 10 and got there around 1pm. We got to play with cousins, aunts, uncles and most importantly Grandma and Grandpa Nuttall. We were only in safford for a day but we loved getting to see family. We got back to snowflake in time for me to go to Alea's (Seth's Aunt) pampered chef ice cream party. Saturday we had breakfast with lots of extended family, then we went to Billy and Alea's house to decorate cakes for the 50th wedding anniversary party that night. We went to lunch at a Mexican restaurant. Then Seth and Jimmy went to help finish the cakes and I went to the social hall to blow up ballon's for the party (note to self when filling up 100 ballons with helium rotate who ties the ballons off or your fingers will hurt for days) then went back to Grandma and Grandpa Turley's to change for the party. We went to the party and had fun getting to meet lots of new people, I helped in the kitchen a lot. It was good to see lots of people come out for Grandma and Grandpa Turley's 50th wedding anniversary. On sunday Jimmy actually played with Grandma and Grandpa Turley for awhile while we packed and he even let Grandma Turley change his diaper and his clothes. It was a short trip but fun to see everyone. I will post pictures later.

New update and pictures.

So I have been slacking in the blogging world lately but I am trying to do better. So here we go.

Jimmy's birthday was great here are some of the things that he got.

Jimmy loves his "Horty", that is what he calls the horsey. He has had so much fun this week with all of his new toys.

We are having fun getting ready to go on a trip to see grandparents again (Jimmy's Great grandparents).

Jimmy also had fun last week at the party for utah kids with clefts. It was so much fun to get to see everyone, and get to put names with faces. We had fun getting to see some of the mascots, and having our fill of ice cream thanks to Macey's food store.

This is Bumble from the Utah Bees Baseball.

This is Leo from Utah's Real Salt Lake Soccer. This is Grizzbee from the Utah Grizzlies HockeyThis is Chief from the Utah Blaze Arena Football.

I didn't know that my camera was dying when I took a picture of just Grizzbee I thought that my camera saved it but it didn't. I was so upset when i found that out. but oh well life goes on.

We have had a busy life but we hope it gets back to normal soon.

Just a last look back here is Jimmy a year ago when he wouldn't eat a cupcake.

To now when he ate 2 cupcakes (the second one he got while mom and dad weren't looking.)

Wow what a difference a year makes.

Memories!

Last week a guy I went to high school with passed away in an tragic accident.
I have been talking to some friends since then and many people have been sending their favorite memories to his family for them to keep.

Someone came up with the idea that we should do the same thing for each other... but while we're here to enjoy them together. Isn't this cool!

It's really simple, and just takes a few minutes. So here's what you do: as a comment on my blog, leave a memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if we have been friends for forever, or we just became friends; anything you remember!

And then if you'd like, post the same thing on your blog and enjoy the memories other people leave about you. It is cool to remember the fun time before you are gone.

Thanks for posting your comments.

What a fun week!

This week has been a rollercoaster of emotions. First being Joy - My neice was born on Monday her name is Kairi. Second being stress - Trying to get everything finalized with the cleft group party that is this saturday(eek it still isn't all done.) Third being Joy - My brother George got to bless my new neice Kairi at my grandma's house (per the permission of our bishop) on saturday. Fourth being amazement - Jimmy got his hair cut on saturday (I hope to post some pictures of his new due soon) He is so grown up. He will be two in 3 days. Fifth being sadness - My older brother George flew out to North Carolina yesterday to start work there. But my sister-in-law Shallyse, and my two neices Malia and little Kairi can't go until Kairi is 6 weeks old. Yeah I was a basket case all weekend. Our lives have been crazy but we know that it is all about the Lords plan for us.

Jimmy got to hold his new neice on friday night and when my mom tried to take baby Kairi away Jimmy said no and started crying, until my mom handed her back to him. He loves baby Kairi.

Hopefully this week will go well. Will post again soon.

New to the Blogging stuff.

Here goes my first attempt at blogging.
Our lives have been crazy. Jimmy turns 2 next Thursday the 17th. Wow it has really been 2 years. Jimmy has grown so much and knows so many words he know some sign language but he can say a lot of words he can even count to 10 with my help. Next week we are going to a party for the kids with clefts group. I am so excited for Jimmy to get to meet other kids with clefts and I am so excited to get to meet other parents. We are having an ice cream bar for the kids (jimmy won't be able to have any unless I can get some sorbet donated), and we even have some of the local mascots coming too. We are officially celebrating Jimmy's birthday on July 26th we are taking him to the living planet aquarium then coming home for cake (a monsters inc. cake thanks to Elisha) I will try to figure out how to post pictures so you can see the cake. Jimmy's cleft scar is looking so good. He is on his second set of ear tubes. He has been through so much and is an amazing trooper. I will try to post more later as well as some pictures of our family.
